WORSHIP

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.  Colossians 3:16-17
We gather for worship services every Sunday morning for the purpose of reflecting on and celebrating the glory of God.  We believe worship is our natural response to who God is and what He has done for us.  We learn about God from the Bible, so it is our desire to saturate our services with the reading, singing, praying, and preaching of scripture.

We are a multi-generational church and we strive to have our music reflect that.  We sing a mixture of new and old songs.  We are more focused on participation than on preference.  God has generously blessed the church with a variety of musicians of different backgrounds.  We believe the worship of VBC should reflect the gifts of our member, so this leads us to a musical style that is somewhat eclectic with flavors of folk, bluegrass, pop, rock, and classical.  All are useful in reflecting a different facet of God's glory.  Regardless of the instrumentation, all our efforts are focused on supporting the singing of the members and guests of our church as they sing to their Savior Jesus Christ.
